Embodied

Juliette Aristides and Dominique Medici

April 6 - 27th, open hours Thursdays & Sundays

Public Opening:
Thursday, April 6th 5-9 PM

Embodied is a must-see exhibition of new works by two local and nationally celebrated figurative painters, Juliette Aristides and Dominique Medici, opening April 6th.

These works emerged during the transformative time of the pandemic, in which we all navigated degrees of isolation and virtual experience. They seek to capture the “fully embodied life,” a celebration of the human form and spirit, and an ode to the power of art in the world beyond the screen.

Aristides’s work includes dramatic expressive figures and other works, forming her first major show in Seattle after a career of showing nationally.

Medici’s works capture the joy and exuberance of the Hindu festival of “Holi,” a celebration of colors, love, and spring. About her work she writes:

Celebration has a way of calibrating the soul, it reminds us of what is valuable. Ritual and festival remind us of our life cycles, in the cosmos and the beauty and transience of it all.
