A last-minute rearrangement in the exhibition schedule opened up the opportunity to do something I had been dreaming about since opening the gallery: a salon-style group show of nudes. Nudes of all medium and sizes and shapes, going up the wall. And we did it. In three weeks, we organized a show including seasoned veterans, artists with upcoming shows, and artists who were placing their first-ever pieces in a gallery. Almost all of the artists were regional, from Seattle or Portland. This was an opportunity for the gallery to go a little off-brand, loosen up our curation, and even accommodate some surprises, just to see what happened. The result was palpable energy and excitement.
